Chelsea Have A New Stadium And Champions League Football To Look Forward To Now As The Club Is Soaring Under Conte

After Chelsea tightened their grip on the Premier League title with a 2-1 win over West Ham on Monday night, focus has now turned to the FA Cup and their quarter-final clash with Manchester United.
Blues fans will be confident going into the tie at Stamford Bridge, having hammered former manager Jose Mourinho and his United side 4-0 in west London earlier this season. Whilst they will face a very different side on Monday night, they haven’t lost in the league since that defeat in October, fans and players will still have faith in Antonio Conte’s system which, aside from a loss against London rivals Spurs, has proved almost impenetrable.
Owner Roman Abramovich has seemingly been impressed with Conte’s work since his arrival at the Bridge in the summer, with his side ten points clear at the top of the Premier League, so much so that reports of a new contract have already emerged.
The Italian – who guided his country to the quarter-finals of the European Championships this summer, with a side largely regarded as the worst in recent memory – has masterminded an almost unimaginable turnaround from last season’s tenth placed finish.
The former Juventus boss has maintained that whilst this season is beyond his expectations he remains determined to succeed on a continental level with his Chelsea side, claiming he misses such clashes having gone to take in Manchester City’s win over Monaco just to get a feel for them once again.
Those comments will no doubt be of encouragement to Abramovich, who originally tied Conte down to a deal running through to 2019.
Whilst his on the field successes will of course take priority, Conte’s new deal could have more thought to it than simply the fact he is a good manager.
With plans for a new stadium having been approved by Mayor of London Sadiq Kahn this week, the club are going into a period which through they will need expert guidance. Whilst the financial restraints placed on the club, considering their move to Wembley stadium could cut match day revenue significantly, will be nothing in comparison to the shackles placed on rivals Arsenal when they moved to The Emirates, the Blues will still need careful guidance.
Conte has thrown everything into the club since his arrival from the Italy job, showing a love for the club and a connection to the fans, meaning he would certainly keep the best interests of the club on a wider scale in mind with any dealings during their transitional period.
The Russian owner is renowned for being trigger happy with his managers, a new deal for Conte could well be a turning point, as Abramovich looks to settle down into a successful period in Chelsea’s history.
